Juliet’s curiousity about art and clay began at school and developed over a period of thirty years.
An Early Education Degree and a Visual Arts Degree from the University of New South Wales enabled Juliet to teach ceramics in rural areas of New South Wales, to manage the John Miller Galleries in Newcastle and currently to coordinate the Arts for Health programme at John Hunter Hospital.
Alongside this enriching work is her own art practice which focuses on the figurative. Peoples differences and similarities have always intrigued Juliet and there is often an underlying political message to her work.
Her sculptures are handbuilt in earthenware clay and she uses appropriate slips, underglazes and glazes to finish the pieces.
